Five years ago, on April 19th 2008, Madonna released her 11th studio album, HARD CANDY. An exercise in R&B and Hip-Hop elements, Madonna proved her staying power in music. It also produced the best-selling concert tour by a solo artist. For today, I present the title track from the album, Candy Shop, as presented as the opening number to Madonna's 2008-2009's Sticky & Sweet World Tour. Enjoy!!!

Madonna Music Monay - 04/22/2013

On April 22nd, 2003, Madonna released her 9th album, AMERICA LIFE. It was her most political album, her mid-life crisis album and now one of her most under-rated albums. No matter what your political views are, it is interesting to re-visit this album and realize how 'on point' Madonna was about the state of the United States and the government. But I'm not here to sway political views. I just what people to realize what an amazing artist Madonna is and how great this album really is. For today's video, I present the live version of the title track, taken from Madonna's 2004 Re-Invention World Tour. Enjoy!

Madonna Music Monday - 04/15/2013

Today I present my 9th favorite non-ballad Madonna song. In June of 2006, Madonna's Confessions Tour was headed to Chicago. I was excited for this tour because the album it was promoting, Confessions on the Dance Floor, was one of my favorite albums. What I did not expect from this tour was a surprise "re-invented" performance of a classic Madonna song, Erotica. It was rumored that there were two versions of Erotica: the original deep-house album version and a more soulful version secretly known as You Thrill Me. On the Confessions Tour, Madonna performs a medley version of these two songs, which instantly becomes a classic concert performance. So here is Erotica/You Thrill Me as performed on the 2006 Confessions Tour.

For the next few weeks, I plan on sharing my Top Ten Madonna Non-Ballad Songs. This is my current list, because my favorite Madonna songs always change from time to time. But for now, this is what I feel are my favorite Top Ten. For this week, its a two-for-one song medley. I love when Madonna sings in Spanish or about Spanish themes. In 1987, Madonna combined two of her hits as the finale for her Who's That Girl World Tour. So here is Madonna singing La Isla Bonita with Who's That Girl, one of the best Madonna "mash-ups". Enjoy!
