Trip Report - Walt Disney World - 07/21/11 - Part Two

So after an afternoon swim and a quick nap, it was time to head back to Epcot for dinner and more. We have 6:30pm reservations for the new restaurant located in the Mexico Pavilion, La Hacienda de San Angel. The restaurant is located along the World Showcase Lagoon, but is completely indoors. Because of the heat during the day, and because I had not eaten at this location, I was afraid that the restaurant was open-air. Lucky, I confirmed with WDW Dining that it is an enclosed eatery and that there will be air-conditioning, Good for the heat, bad for my cold. For a detailed review of our dining, you can check out my 11/05/2011 blog.

After we were done with dinner, I realized it was already 7:30pm. Where did the time go? After dinner we run over to Test Track to use the Fast Passes we had gotten earlier in the day. It's gonna be interesting to see how Fast Pass will work now that Disney is telling Cast Members to enforce the return times of the Fast Passes. So we get into the Fast Pass line and wait about 10 minutes before getting onto the ride. I love Test Track. It will be cool to see what the new make-over will look like when Test Track re-opens later this Fall. Plus I can't wait to try the Car's Land version at California Adventure. Maybe later this year. But for now, here is video of my nephew and I on Test Track:

The main thing we wanted to do at Epcot was to do some shopping at the Japan Pavilion. My nephew loves anything from Japan: toys, cartoons & games. So we rushed over to the Mitsukoshi Department store to see what my nephew wanted to buy. Well let me tell you. If it has anything to do with Mario Brothers, he HAS to buy it. So after looking at everything in the store, my nephew had made his purchases.

Every time I head to Epcot and shop at Mitsukoshi's, I tell myself to buy the glow-in-the-dark Godzilla t-shirt. But I never do. Here is a pic of that shirt. I think its really cool looking. Plus I LOVE that its glow in the dark:

After shopping in Japan, we head towards Mouse Gears. There are some specific Mouse Ears I want to buy. As we walk along World Showcase Lagoon, Illuminations is in full-swing. I wished we had gotten out of dinner a bit earlier so that we could have watched the fireworks. But I think my nephew would not like Illuminations as much as he did Fantasmic and Wishes.

So we finally get to Mouse Ears before the mad rush enters the store. During the week I saw some really cool Mouse Ears on various park guests. So I have to find them and buy them. Basically they are Mouse Ears themed after the various country pavilions in World Showcase. So I'm looking for the Mexico and Italy Mouse Ears. So we head to the Ears section of Mouse Gears and find them. I have my name stitched on the Mexico Ears. They look so cool.

I also come across the 40th Anniversary Magic Kingdom Ears. They are so cool. They are so nice, I'd hate to wear them anywhere.

After finishing my shopping, it was time to leave Epcot and head back to Pop Century. My nephew and I got onto a shuttle bus real fast as the crowds started to head of the park. In a short time, we were back at the resort. We got some snacks and headed back to our room for some much needed rest. The next day will be our last day of our trip.  I could already feel the depression. Or is that my cold acting up again? Oh well. See you on my next trip report!!
